The Cell Zone® has been specifically designed to reduce noise from the surrounding environment. Its functional design, from the shape to the sound proofing materials used inside, lend itself to any number of environments. The design focus of The Cell Zone® is to create a reduced noise environment from which to place/receive your phone calls through innovative features combined with structural and aesthetic flexibility. HOW IT WORKS
To work effectively, sound isolation and reduction requires a heavy, solid surface to act as a noise barrier. Two layers of solid material separated by substantial air space provide more significant noise-reduction than one surface having the mass of the two surfaces combined. To further increase noise-reduction, the air space between the surfaces in is filled with soft, sound-absorbing material to act as an additional sound barrier. We employed this principle when developing The Cell Zone®. Each unit is composed of two steel cylinders fitted inside each other and the space filled with acoustic material. This design forces the sound waves to vibrate against the outer wall of the unit, creating new, smaller waves as they pass through the dense acoustic material. By the time the sounds waves hit the interior steel cylinder, the sound waves will be significantly reduced. |
